The U.S. is on “The Hero’s Journey”

When the U.S. faced the recent election, most people saw it as just an election. I saw it as the start of The Hero’s Journey. I was on pins and needles as I waited for the outcome of the election! The hero’s journey is a journey that involves: 1. Making a choice – either knowingly or inadvertently; 2. Being confronted with a critical problem that must be resolved; 3. A demand to clean and reorganize the house; 4. Going through a sorting process; 5. Having to align oneself with one’s true nature; 6. Carrying some form of light, whether candle or glowing coals, to a destination; and 7. Holding oneself in the place of a humble but grateful, even joyous, witness as the problem resolves itself.

The Hero’s Journey is a mythical journey of awakening and transformation. It is a journey into the heart of consciousness that results in a changed individual full of wisdom, grace, and power. It is usually undertaken by an individual, but it can also be undertaken by a family or a country. It is a journey into the heart of the self that results in becoming wise, graceful, and powerful. It involves challenges that change you at the core. It involves becoming who you really are. To fail to embark on the journey or to fail to complete it results in death.

In the election campaign, people saw Hillary Clinton all polished and pretty and politically correct, running for president. Running against her was Donald Trump who was brash and bold and breaking all the rules of polite politics. She represented the queen, the one with all the power. She represented the status quo, more of what we already had. He represented the clown, the one who distracts us from the status quo and because he is a clown, is not taken seriously.

Difficulty is always a factor in making the choice. If the choice was obvious, it would be easy. There are always an overwhelming number of frightening or threatening unknowns. It’s like getting a divorce. We can’t stand the marriage any longer, but we don’t want the financial or emotional hit that a divorce would bring. We don’t want the queen and her status quo, but to choose the clown and the unknown??

This election was the setup for that choice – a choice that asked us, “Do we want to evolve our consciousness and move to a place of wisdom, joy, grace, and peace of mind? Or do we want to go down in ignominious self-destruction?” The choice is symbolic of life and death, of evolution to a more expanded consciousness, of taking a step toward becoming who we really are – or a refusal to look at truth and continuing to live with spirit-deadening lies.

As we drew closer to the election, a flood of information began to flow out of the FBI, the New York police department, the CIA, and other intelligence agencies. They knew what was going on behind the scenes with Clinton and were sending their intelligence reports to WikiLeaks. The information contained emails, photos, and other evidence about the millions of dollars being laundered by the Clinton Foundation, the sale of U.S. state secrets to other countries, the murder of anyone who got in their way, and the abduction of children and teens to Jeffery Epstein’s island home in the Virgin Islands where they were made “available” to various people in powerful places for sexual purposes. Those who took advantage of these young ones were secretly videotaped and then blackmailed to go along with the wishes of the Bush-Clinton cabal…a group responsible for much more dishonesty and corruption than is listed here…and all of this corruption becomes the critical problem that must be resolved.

In many of the ancient journeys of awakening, once the choice is made, the hero or heroine is made to clean up in some way. In the myth of Hercules, he must shovel out a thousand years’ worth of manure from the king’s stables in one day. In another, the young and beautiful Vasalisa must clean and re-organize the witch’s house every day. This symbolizes the need to clean house and reorganize ourselves as a nation. Representatives of the old system cannot clean up the system because it is working for them! Thus the need for the hero to do the cleanup…and in this case, we the people are the heroes.

The next challenge is that of sorting. In the story of Vasalisa, she is confronted with a mountain of dirt mixed with poppy seeds and is told she must sort the seeds from the dirt by the next morning. Complicating the problem of sorting is that the seeds are tiny, black, and hard to identify, it is dark, and there is great pressure to accomplish the task. She is hopeless and feels it is impossible to complete, and when she gets tired, she goes to sleep believing she has failed, but in the morning, she finds the job finished! The angels and helpful spirits have completed the job while she slept.

The sorting symbolizes the need to sort out good from bad, as well as that which can be used to start new life. The seeds of truth and reality can be planted and used to nurture and feed the souls of the people. The fact that the task is completed while Vasalisa sleeps symbolizes the ancient truth that even though we may become hopeless and are not awake yet, there are hidden forces and factors working in our favor. Even though we are working in the dark (dark night of the soul) the task will be accomplished and the dawn will come.

Once the sorting is complete, the hero often faces a decision. The decision is some form of acceptance of one’s true nature and an alignment with this relatively unfamiliar…but seemingly very natural…self. It is a coming home to who we really are…warts, gifts, faults, crazy sense of humor and all! Once the decision is made to align with the true self, there follows a deep recognition of all nature and of what is real in the world. This is the crux of the journey. We cannot live fake lives. It will destroy us.

The last task is that of carrying a lighted candle or glowing coals that will restart our fires. Sometimes the hero must carry the flame through the forest and not let it go out despite wind and rain. If he lets the candle go out, he will lose his way and die. If he reaches his destination with the light still burning, the light burns away the darkness and evil that once lived there.

In the same way that every plant, animal, and human has a natural life-cycle, every civilization has a life-cycle in which its people must develop and evolve to a place of power, wisdom, and grace. There have been lots of civilizations before us. Some have evolved to become wholly transformed and have gone on to other dimensions of greater power and creativity. Many have collapsed in self-destructive cataclysms. Choosing the path of war, greed, and other forms of selfishness leads to self-destruction. “The Universe” gives us total freedom to do as we wish with Life because it knows there is only one choice – the choice to evolve and grow.  That’s why she can be so generous with free will…it’s because She knows that those who are foolish enough to choose anything other than Life will eventually self-destruct, thus taking care of the problem they created!

The U.S. recently reached the point where a choice had to be made…either continue to look the other way and ignore the ugliness that would eventually destroy us – or make a new choice. That choice has been made and we must now begin the task of cleaning house and sorting things out. These are always messy, painful tasks that take at least several years for an individual, even longer for a nation or civilization, yet doing so will lead to the realization that we must align with our true nature if we want to survive. We will then have to carry the light and protect it from going out.

People Voted for Change in Government…Not in the Electoral College!!

People are pushing the idea of removing the Electoral College!?! IMHO this is a very bad idea.

The Electoral College was formed with an eye to preventing any possibility of groups of states with selfish regional interests from ganging up on smaller states or states far away from their problems and issues, and then pushing their agenda onto those smaller or more remote states. It was a way of making sure that we were all in this together. Removing the Electoral College will clear the way for exactly this kind of ganging up to happen and will probably guarantee the breakup of the U.S. into smaller regional governments with localized platforms.

We stand a chance of breaking up anyway because we have grown past the practicality of democracy. The concept of “one-person-one-vote” does not work well once you get past a certain number of people. It’s like nanotechnology – all the rules change at certain sizes. Of course, we may also break up simply by leaving Mr. Trump in place, however, there is no reason to expect that anything bad will happen just because he is president – unless we are not paying attention to what is going on! People voted for change, but I don’t think they wanted change in the Electoral College… they wanted a say in their own lives.

Trump is only in for four years. Someone else may follow him IF we hang together as a country. Tearing up the Electoral College is almost certainly going to have long-term results that we do not want and didn’t expect, including the breakup of the nation. However one chooses to look at the situation, it is clear that Trump is a harbinger of change, and going back to change what worked in the past is not where we should be putting our time and attention. We must keep the democratic principles and move on and up to new forms of self-governance that are yet to be created.

Ideology and Idiotology

I have concluded that we do not have an ideology, we have an idiotology. Ideology is defined as:  “A system of ideas and ideals, especially one that forms the basis of economic or political theory and policy..”

According to Louis Althusser, ideology “can be described as a set of conscious and unconscious ideas that make up one’s beliefs, goals, expectations, and motivations.”

Our current idiotology is based on belief in:  the Capitalist system, the Male-dominant system, Wars forever, Progress based on debt, Failing to Feed people, Medicine that causes health problems, Education that constricts consciousness, Business that competes, Allowing 1% of the people to own everything, Destruction of the environment, Religions based on rules made up by humans, Monsanto et al.

The Rise of Corporations

Years ago I was visited by a group of little men in brown Robes. They showed me lots of things about the future. One of the things I saw when with them was the break-up of nations. I found this hard to take in and I expected it would be a rather messy process, but it seemed to proceed in a way that looked like a strange combination of logical, surreptitious, and natural…although there were certainly lots of arguments and court fights, complicated by natural disasters, assassinations, and regional fights.

In reading the few snippets of information coming from those who have been allowed to see the TPP, TiSA, and TTIP agreements, I was reminded of what I saw with the Robes – the rise of corporations to power, which then precipitated the break-up of nations.

The trade agreement that was “fast-tracked” through the U.S. Congress has sealed the power of corporations, up-staging government altogether, usurping the power of nations and making them redundant, almost unnecessary. This will lead eventually to the coalescence of fiercely bio-regional agreements that become corporations in their own right in order to balance the power of the big corporations. The difference between these regional corporations and the big global corporations will be that the regional ones will care deeply about their people and their corner of the Earth.

As of yesterday afternoon, the TPP was approved by the Senate. The whole thing was kept secret because it accomplishes the take-down of the nation and transfers legal power to corporations. The bottom line is that we no longer have a sovereign nation.

The Robes warned against trying to go back to what was. As they predicted, we would not pay attention to what was really happening until it was too late. Suffice it to say, the day of the nation is over. The questions we have to ask ourselves might include:

  1. What can we envision that might be even better than what we used to have?
  2. What do we need to be creating that looks beyond the ascendancy of the corporation and compensates for its shortcomings?
  3. How has our government infantilized us, and what do we need to do to take responsibility for our lives?
  4. How should we be positioning ourselves to move into the future?

I have a sign hanging in my bathroom that says, “Accept what is, let go of what was, have faith in what will be.” We are going to need this advice.

Our Predicament

At this point in time, I am quite excited about our world even though I have some concerns about the U.S. The world is definitely changing, but none of those changes are being reported in the U.S. Instead, we have the steady diet of propaganda and the presentation of seriously biased information that leaves us out of what the rest of the world is experiencing. My concern is that we are going to become the sole captives of a small group of sociopathic and psychopathic control freaks who will be forced to be content with whatever is left of the U.S. instead of being able to recognize their dreams of controlling the world. Since we no longer have a democracy – only the skeletal remains of one – we have only a few reasonable and workable options. The biggest one is to relentlessly pursue the re-institution of our constitution and another is to fight through the court system to correct those things that are a slap in the face of true democracy. Then there is the option of simply ignoring the government and going around it, building conscious communities that reconnect with Mother Earth and conduct themselves with dignity, integrity, justice, and joy.

Thought for Monday, 5/5/2014

I used to wonder why the German people didn’t do something about Hitler. I often asked myself, “How could they have gone along with what he was doing? Couldn’t they see what he was doing?”

Now I know. They didn’t know what was going on. They didn’t get any truthful news or perspectives on what was happening. They were fed a steady diet of propaganda and slanted media stories written to make things look good.

Until lately, I wondered why the American people hadn’t done anything about the corruption in Washington DC and the loss of freedom. How could they have let go of our democracy?

Now I know. They don’t know what is going on. CNN and the networks don’t present any news containing the truth of what is really happening. People are fed a steady diet of propaganda and slanted stories written to keep the old illusion of American righteousness alive.

Can You See Where the U.S. Is Headed?

It is happening in Syria, in Egypt, Libya, Sudan, the Central African Republic, Venezuela, Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Ethiopia, Somalia, Ecuador, Chile, Argentina, Malaysia, the U.S.S.R., Greece, Crete, Ukraine, and lots of other places.

What’s happening is the intervention of “hidden forces” that are designed to take out the leadership, get control of the money, take over the natural resources…and along the way, sow the seeds of discontent and distrust that will lead eventually to a breakup of stable relationships among the people…and eventually to a breakup of the entire nation.

The financial system of the U.S. was captured long ago, we have the most powerful military tools in the world, and we have long been under the control of hidden powerbrokers. So why would the U.S. break up? Because it would be too dangerous to let it continue as a giant superpower. What if someone else got control of it?

It plays out like this. If you were trying to rule the world, it would be a mistake to allow the existence of big countries with massive numbers of men and machines that could defy you or ignore your directives. The long term plan would have to include the objective of first getting control of those countries and then breaking them up so that none of them had the physical capacity to resist or wrest control from you.

The military and financial power of the U.S. would initially be quite useful to you if you were pulling strings from a hidden position off-stage. With both military and financial power at your fingertips, you would have the basic tools needed to create chaos and uproar in all the other big players.

Once those countries were in chaos or had been broken up, the U.S. structural façade would no longer be needed and it would be our turn to be split. Then, with all the nations broken into small pieces, no one could challenge you. You could then say, “I rule the world!”

How to accomplish these breakups? Plant seeds of distrust and greed, bring in weapons, and let your seeds of disruption unfold. Continue to foment unrest by pitting factions against one another to the point that all cohesiveness breaks down. Possibilities might be: create a financial debacle, or carry out an attack on some area and then blame it someone else. You might also come up with the idea that the territory or organization was corrupt or violated human right or has been uncooperative and thus ought to be invaded or legally broken up. Perhaps you could create or allow a disaster to occur that disrupts a region completely and forces people into new locations where they have no roots, no jobs, and no support, and then make new laws or decisions about property while they are too distracted to deal with anything other than survival.

The risk of failure in all of this would be enormous, but the allure of the payoff – if successful – would be worth it to some.

When I look at the big picture, if things continue to unfold as they are now, it all points toward the breakup of the U.S. into much smaller units in the not-too-distant future.
